Every year the top paint manufactures (Pantone, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Behr) release their paint color trends for the upcoming year.  As a home stager and interior redesigner, I try to draw inspiration from color on many level.  I must admit, my curiosity over the new color trends always has me wondering if these colors can used in the average home.

Pantone 2013 Color of the Year - Emerald
Patone’s 2013 Color of the Year – Emerald
BEHR Paints Festive Green
Behr’s Color of the Year – Festive Green
Sherwin-Williams 2013 Color of the Year

Benjamin Moore Color of the Year - Lemon Sorbet
Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year – Lemon Sorbet

Benjamin Moore has released Color Stories for 2013.  At least half of these colors could be used for the home staging part of my business.  The Color Stories have shades of gray, naturally neutral, earthen hues, elemental greens, and golden fields.

Orange County Holiday Decor Tips – Holiday DIY Crafts That Are Inexpensive

With less than 20 days left until Christmas, it is time to catch up on our to do lists.

Creating beautiful Holiday decor should not cost a fortune and should be an enjoyable task to share with family and friends.

Here are some of my favorite DIY Holiday displays:

Felted Acorns {Houzz}

Acorns are hung from some twigs, this ideas is simple but looks great.  It can work almost anywhere in your home.

Handcrafted Holiday Decorations {Houzz}

These home-made Holiday pictures look amazing and were made from small pieces of fabric.

What a simple Holiday idea - pine cones, candles, and pine branches. {Houzz}

I love this idea of placing pinecones and pine branches into an old wooden box.  This could be created from items in your backyard.

Ballard Designs console table and an antique mirror plus home-made paper ornaments. {Houzz}

This simple, White Christmas decor is elegant.  Branches were placed in a clear vase and paper tags were stamped and hung from the branches.

Tie cinnamon sticks around your candles. The heated cinnamon makes your house smell amazing. {Pinterest}

Cinnamon stocks tied with string around a vanilla candle.  This combination just smells amazing and will definitely get you in the Holiday spirit.

Holiday Charity Giving – Let’s Spread the Word on #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is an opportunity for us to think beyond Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday shopping sprees.

#GivingTuesday’s goal is to establish a national day of giving and bring our focus back to what Holiday giving is all about.

Over 2,000 charities have partnered with #GivingTuesday to help jump start their first annual event.

Where Can You Hang a Holiday Wreath – Home Decor Tips?

Since Christmas is fast approaching, many home owners are planning their Holiday festivities.  In my house, we always decorate for Christmas as a family and enjoy using both “old” and “new” decorations to complete the look.

Wreaths have always been a favorite Holiday decoration for us because they are so versatile and can be used for many different occasions.  A wreath can vary in size from 10-12 inches to up to 30 inches and can be decorated with anything from pine-cones to silk ribbons.  Smaller wreathes can be used on Holiday tables as centerpieces or even hung on a window for some added festiveness.

Here are some great uses for Holiday wreathes:
